How we started
Rachel Okonkwo spent nine years as the in-house bookkeeper for a building supply company in Austin. She closed the books for a business with forty employees, three locations and a customer who paid every invoice sixty days late. She was good at it, and she noticed that the owners of smaller companies had nobody doing that job for them.
In 2022 she left to start Meridian Ledger Co. so that a business with five employees could have the same monthly close a bigger company takes for granted. The work is done remotely, so clients are not limited to Austin.
The team
Rachel leads the firm and reviews every client's close. She is a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. Tomas Villarreal and Jenna Park are our staff bookkeepers, and each client has one of them as a named contact. We have kept the team small on purpose, so the person who answers your email also knows your books.
